Virtual Demonstration
Grades 4 to 7
- For groups of 50 or more students
- 50-minute virtual lesson
- Taught by a Bake for Good Instructor via Zoom
- Students receive a baking kit and bake at home
How it works
A King Arthur Bake for Good (BFG) Instructor will present an informative and engaging Zoom demonstration from our studio kitchen, lasting approximately 50 minutes. We recommend scheduling a full hour to allow for questions. Students will watch the demonstration from their classroom via a Smartboard or projected screen. Teachers will facilitate discussion from their computers by relaying student questions and answers to the BFG instructor through the chat.
Flour and supplies for the baking kits will be sent one to two weeks before the demonstration date. You will assemble these kits, which students will take home on the day of the demonstration. We recommend that students bake their bread over the weekend. The entire recipe process takes about 3.5 hours from start to finish, which may be difficult to fit in after school.
Please carefully review the Virtual Planning Guide for information on the Zoom meeting and assembling the baking kits.
Learn, Bake — and Share
At King Arthur Baking Company, building community through baking lies at the heart of our mission. The BFG bread recipe makes two loaves or several dozen rolls, your students will extend the joy of their baking experience by sharing half of their baked goods as a donation to a food shelf, or as an act of kindness.
